At The Fountain

This painting is titled At the fountain.At the fountain is a color pencil painting 14in-11in on vellum Strathmore paper using Prisma and Derwent color pencils.This painting depicts a young female English Sparrow coming for a drink at my water fountain in the garden.My inspiration for this painting was the varieties of textures in the different elements,the warm muted grays and of course the beautiful reflections in the brass ball.Alot of color layering and burnishing was involved in this piece 10 layers alone in the ball and reflections.
